Victoria Monét is a recording artist, songwriter, producer and performer from Sacramento, California. Raised in the church, she also sang in the youth choir, but it was dance that initially gave her a sense of herself as a performer.
Monét made her mark as an emerging talent in the R&B community with the release of her second project: Life After Love, Pt. I + 2. Lead by singles “Do You Like It” and “New Love,” her projects amassed over 16 million streams to date. Her voice was prominent in the most recent season soundtrack of Issa Rae’s HBO series Insecure via “Little More Time” with Lucky Daye and season finale song “The Glow”.
Having written songs for everyone from Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, T.I., Normani, Chris Brown, Nas, GOOD Music and more, she recently gained two #1s under her belt, penning “thank u, next” and “7 rings” for Ariana Grande. She also wrote the quickly climbing “needy,” “NASA,” “makeup” and extremely moving “ghostin” off Grande’s thank u, next album.
She just released the chart climbing duet "Monopoly" with Ariana Grande and is gearing up to release a new EP introducing a new chapter of her career. Her songs explore her sexuality and freedom as a black woman, full of clever lyrics about femininity, intimacy, loss and love.
